WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!
April 26, 2017, the city of Irkutsk:
BC “Irkut” (Irkutsk) 49:84 BC “University-Yugra” (Surgut).
BC "University-Yugra" became the champion of the men's Super League-1 (total score in the final series: 3: 0)!
From the first seconds of the game, a stubborn struggle ensued. In general, the opponents played on equal only the starting quarter, which ended in 24:24 on the scoreboard. The remaining ten-minute quarters won the "students" - 9:22, 8:14 and 8:24. Thus, the match ended with a score of 49:84 in favor of the team from Surgut.
The award ceremony was attended by Nikita Morgunov (President of the Professional Basketball Department of the Russian Federation of Basketball) and Ilya Reznik (the Minister of Sports of the Irkutsk region).
The best center was recognized by Alexander Savenkov (BC "University-Yugra"). Nikola Lepojevic is the most valuable player (MVP) of the Super League-1!!!
COMMENTS AFTER THE GAME:
Nikola Lepojević (captain of BC University Ugra): "We were very well prepared for the games with Irkut and we really wanted to win, we knew that we are better. We played well in Surgut and we came here only for victory. As agreed in the locker room, already in the course of the match, we realized that we will not lose this game. We had a lot of fans not only in Surgut, but also in Serbia. We are the best team in this league!!"
Sergey Oljhov (head coach of BC "University-Yugra"): "Finally, we were lucky, after all we became silver medalists four times, and we wanted to take gold already. I think that the result is logical: this season we were the strongest team. The score on the scoreboard showed it."
